So “sophisticated” is a word I wouldn’t often use in conjunction with Easter Eggs – but I adore these natural marbled & bronze eggs! And at the risk of sounding crazy, I might just say these Easter Eggs land the pretty tall accomplishment of being entirely SOPHISTICATED!
I was on the hunt for understated & classy Easter egg inspiration. And I owe a huge thank you to Style Me Pretty Living for the inspiration for these sophisticated eggs. The natural, denim-like color + a touch of bronze = worth all the effort to blow out these eggs!!
HOW TO CREATE MARBLED, NATURALLY-DYED EGGS
Hardboiled or Blown-Out Eggs
Grape Juice
White Vinegar
Paper towel
STEP 1 \\ Put hard boiled or blown-out eggs in a large bowl.
STEP 2 \\ Fill the bowl with equal parts grape juice and vinegar, enough to cover the eggs. [ Side note: Blown-out eggs will float. That’s okay, it just requires a bit of extra attention to turn them several times throughout the process. ]
STEP 3 \\ Let sit overnight.
STEP 4 \\ Remove the eggs from the vinegar and grape juice bath and gently pat away the foam with a paper towel.
STEP 5 \\ Let dry 4-6 hours.
The bronzed eggs are simply hardboiled eggs spray painted with Rustoleum Bronze. I also made one brave attempt to bronze-dip one of the blown-out, marbled eggs by spraying bronze spray paint into an empty egg carton cup. [Work quickly if you are working with a styrofoam egg carton – because spray paint causes styrofoam to do that crazy melting thing.] Then I simply dipped in the egg and set it upside down in the egg carton to dry, touching it with one very-light-puff of bronze spray paint to add a bit of shimmer to the overall marbling.
However, I was so smitten by the blue marbling that I didn’t have the courage to attempt any other Bronze&Marbled eggs! I was worried I would sabotage an already beautiful egg! So you’ll notice one lone Bronze&Marble beauty. And he’s awfully pretty, but not pretty enough for me to go taking crazy risks!! After all, I only have 12 blown-out eggs and not nearly enough breath left in me to blow-out another batch until at least next year!
Hoping your egg-decorating endeavors left you equally as smitten. Happy Easter from our family to yours!

On the bronze/marbled egg. Did you spray first, let dry, and then dye? That’s my favorite of the bunch.

Dye first, let dry. Then dip and finish with one light-puff-of-bronze spray paint. :)
