We have a bird in our chimney. Whether it’s stuck there or nesting there is presently debatable. This is how the discovery transpired [ via the Google chat transcript with the Ben, with the addition of some punctuation & spell checking ;) ]. . .
[T] Uh, there is a TERRIBLY loud, crying bird stuck in our chimney and it’s giving me the heebie jeebies!
[B] Open the damper and let it out.
[T] In the HOUSE?
[T] Yeah. Turn off all the lights and close all the blinds, and open the front door. It will fly towards the light and out the door.
Side Note: This was all beginning to sound terribly reminiscent of a dramatic bat incident a few years back.
[T] I CAN’T!! Oh my goodness, I definitely CAN’T!
[B] Then listen to the bird.
[B] I’ll help at lunch.
Thank the good Lord that by lunch the bird had quieted. I was hoping that “quieted” meant “had escaped” rather than “had died.” Until…
TODAY, 10:15 AM Update
[T] It’s baaaccckk! So now I’m voting Not Dead and Not Stuck, but “has a blasted nest in there!”

So while I’m no big fan of having a bird (maybe nesting?) in our chimney, the idea of dainty nesting eggs (they’re blue in my mind) has me feeling so very spring time-y!!
